AUTHORSHIP CRITERIA
The Macedonian Journal of Anaesthesia follows the authorship criteria of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
To qualify as an author, individuals must meet all of the following conditions:
• Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
• Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content;
• Final approval of the version to be published;
• Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to accuracy or integrity are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All individuals who meet these criteria must be listed as authors. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet all authorship criteria (e.g., technical assistance, data collection, language editing) should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section with their permission.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria and have approved the final version of the manuscript.
JOURNAL INFORMATION
The Macedonian Journal of Anaesthesia (MJA) is the official journal of the Macedonian Society of Anaesthesia (MSA) and the Macedonian Society of Critical Care Medicine (MSCCM). The journal aims to promote and disseminate scientific knowledge, clinical experience, and advances in anaesthesia, reanimation, intensive care medicine, and related disciplines.
The journal is published four times per year (April, June, October, and December), with additional supplements published when necessary.
Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and not previously published. Manuscripts that have been published in abstract form may be considered, provided that full disclosure is made in a cover letter including details of the abstract publication (conference name, proceedings book, DOI if available, date, and place of presentation).
Authors are responsible for ensuring compliance with ethical standards in medical research and for the accuracy and integrity of the data, analyses, and conclusions presented in their manuscripts.
The journal operates a double-blind peer review process for Scientific Articles. Manuscripts are evaluated by anonymous reviewers, and final editorial decisions are made by the editorial board.
After review, manuscripts together with reviewers’ comments are returned to the corresponding author for revision. Authors are expected to submit revised manuscripts within the requested timeframe.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to make editorial changes to manuscripts to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to journal standards. The order of publication does not reflect the scientific merit of accepted manuscripts.
